MANILA, Philippines — Nadagdagan sa huling bahagi ng 2022 o mula October hanggang December ang bilang ng mga pamilyang Filipino na nagsabing sila ay mahirap.

Batay sa resulta ng Social Weater Station (SWS) survey, 51 porsiyento o 12.9 milyong pamilya ang nagsabi na sila ay mahirap.

Noong Hulyo hanggang Setyembre o 3rd Quarter ng 2022, umaabot sa 12.6 milyon ang nagsabing sila ay mahirap.

?May 31 porsiyento naman ang nagsabi na sila ay nasa ‘borderline’ ng pagiging mahirap, samantalang 19 porsiyento ang nagsabi na hindi sila mahirap. 

Sa 12.9 milyong pamilya, walong porsiyento ang nagsabi na hindi sila mahirap mula isa hanggang apat na taon bago ang 2022 at 5.8 porsiyento naman ang hindi sila mahirap mula lima o higit pang taon bago ang 2022.

“In the last four quarters, the national median Self-Rated Poverty Threshold (minimum monthly budget) stayed at ?15,000, while the national median Self-Rated Poverty Gap fell from ?6,000 in October 2022 to ?5,000 in December 2022,” ayon sa SWS.

Isinagawa ang survey noong Disyembre 10-14, 2022  sa may 1,200 adult respondents.
