Pamamahagi ng face masks sa Sorsogon, inutos ni Duque
MANILA, Philippines — Ipinag-utos ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III nitong Lunes ang pamamahagi ng prepositioned supplies at face masks sa mga apektadong residente kasunod ng phreatic eruption ng Mount Bulusan sa Sorsogon.
“I instructed that all the prepositioned supplies must already be distributed to the affected families and especially those in the evacuation centers,” pahayag ni Duque sa ANC.
“And I also already instructed the distribution of N-95 masks and N-88 surgical masks to protect our people from the ashfall and its impact on eyes,” aniya pa.
Ayon sa Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), ang pagputok ng Mt. Bulusan ay naganap alas-10:37 ng umaga nitong Hunyo 5 na idineklarang 0-1 alert level.
Samantala, pinayuhan ni Dr. Edsel Maurice Salvana, miyembro ng DOH-Technical Advisory Group ang mga apektadong residente ng Sorsogon na magsuot ng “quality face masks” bilang proteksyon laban sa pyroclastic materials.
“Well, I’m not a pulmonologist, I’m an infectious disease doctor pero ‘yung mga ganyan particles, pyroclastic materials lalo na the small ones can damage your lungs,” ani Salvana.
“So very important you have access to a quality mask —mga N95s, KN95s probably should wear that lalo na ‘pag mataas particle count nakikita niyo,” payo ni Salvana.
Magdudulot aniya, ng pinsala sa baga ang particles, na maaring lumikha ng pilat, o pinsala sa lung tissue.
Pinayuhan niya rin ang mga nasa evacuation centers na sundin ang minimum health at safety protocols upang maiwasan ang outbreak ng Covid-19 at iba pang viral illnesses.
