'Traslacion 2022' suspendido uli dahil sa COVID-19, ayon sa Manila LGU
MANILA, Philippines — Maaantala na naman ang taunang prusisyon ng imahe ng Itim na Nazareno sa darating ika-9 ng Enero sa susunod na taon dulot pa rin ng patuloy na banta ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19), pagkukumpirma ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Maynila.
Biyernes nang kumpirmahin ito ng hepe ng Manila Public Information na si Faye Orellana pagdating sa kasasapitan ng tradisyon ng "Traslacion," na matatandaang sinuspindi rin noong 2021.
"Instead, the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene will be done through a motorcade in selected areas of the City of Manila," ayon sa statement ng MPIO.
"The decision was made following a consultation dialogue between Fr. Douglas Badong and other officials of Quiapo Church and the city government of Manila."

Ayon kay Manila Police District director Gen. Leo Francisco, hindi bababa sa 8,000 kawani ng Philippine National Police ang itatalaga sa mismong pista.
Maaari pa naman daw dagdagan ang manpower sa naturang aktibidad depende sa sitwasyon at alert level status ng Maynila pagsapit ng Enero 2022.
"The meeting was held yesterday and the decision to suspend the grand procession of the Black Nazarene next year was a mutual decision. The decision made was in line with the implementation of Alert Level 2 in the nation’s capital," ani Orellana kanina.
"In the case that Alert Level 3 will be raised, consultation between the Church and the government will be done for possible changes."
Kasama rin sa mga lumahok sa naturang pagpupulong ay ilang kinatawan ng MPD, Philippine Red Cross, Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office at Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau.
Ang Traslacion ay pagsasadula ng paglilipat ng imahe noong 1787 patungo sa Minor Bassilica mula sa orihinal nitong kinalulugaran sa Intramuros, Maynila.
Milyun-milyong deboto ang dumadalo sa naturang pagtitipon taun-taon mahawakan lang ang nasabing "milagrosong" imahe, bagay na tumatagal lagpas 22 oras minsan.
