MANILA, Philippines — Nilinaw ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., na hindi maaapektuhan ang Pilipinas ng China Coast Guard Law.

Paliwanag ni Locsin, ito ay dahil epektibo lang ang batas na ito sa teritoryo ng China.

Ang paglilinaw ng kalihim ay ginawa matapos na sabihin ni retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio na delikado ang CCG law sa seguridad ng bansa.

Sa ilalim ng nasabing batas, magpapaputok ang China Coast Guard sa mga banyagang barko na papasok sa kanilang teritoryo.

“I refuse to have it studied as if it applied to our territorial waters. It doesn’t. So we in boats go about our waters like the CCG law does not exist; we run up against its enforcement we fight back… or submit. CHN (China) like PH can write any law but valid only within their borders,” ayon pa sa tweet ni Locsin.

Matatandaan na naghain ng diplomatic protest ang kalihim laban sa naturang batas noong Enero.
