DFA: Walang Pinoy na nadamay sa New York truck attack

MANILA, Philippines – Tiniyak ng Department of Foreign Affairs na walang Pilipino ang nasaktan sa insidente sa New York City kung saan walong katao ang nasawi.
"The Philippines extends its deepest sympathies and is one with the United States government and the American people in condemning this unspeakable act of terror," pahayag ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano ngayong Miyerkules.
"Our hearts reach out to the families of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident in Manhattan," dagdag niya.
Pinayuhan naman ni Consul General Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega ang mga Pilipino sa New York na iwasan ang Chamber at West Streets sa Lower Manhattan kung saan naganap ang madugong insidente.
Bukod sa mga nasawi, marami rin ang sugatan matapos araruhin ng isang lalaki ang mga pedestrian sa lugar.
Arestado naman ang suspek na inaalam pa kung may kaugnayan siya sa international terrorist group na ISIS.
