Enero idineklarang ‘National Bible Month’ ni Digong
MANILA, Philippines - Idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang buwan ng Enero bilang ‘National Bible Month’ bilang pagkilala sa pagiging relihiyoso ng bawat Filipino at pag-angat ng impluwensiya ng relihiyon sa human society.
Nilagdaan ni Pangulong Duterte ang Proclamation 124 nitong Enero 5 kung saan ay idineklara rin na ang huling linggo ng Enero kada taon ay ‘national bible week’.
“It is fitting and proper for the molding of the spiritual, moral and social fiber of our citizenry, that national attention be focused on the importance of reading and studying the bible,” nakassad pa sa proclamation.
“While maintaining neutrality in its treatment of all religious communities, the government is not precluded from pursuing valid objectives secular in character even if it would have an incidental result affecting a particular religion or sect,” wika pa sa statement.
