Maintenance contractor ng MRT pinalawig
MANILA, Philippines – Pinalawig ng isang buwan ng Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) ang kontrata ng Fil-German joint venture maintenance contractor Schunk Bahn-und Industreitechnik- Comm Builders & Technology Philippines bilang MRT rolling stock at signalling systems maintenance contractor ng ahensiya.
Ang naturang extension ay para sa maayos na paglilipat sa umano’y pinaborang bagong contractor na Korean-Filipino group na Busan Transportation Corp.-Edison-Tramat Mercantile-TMICorp-Castan Corp. para sa tatlong taong pag-take over sa maintenance ng MRT tulad ng pagsasagawa ng general overhaul ng 43 trains at total replacement ng signalling systems.
Sinabi ni Roehl “Boyett” Bacar, kinatawan ng SBI-CBT JV at president ng CB&T, hindi sapat ang isang buwan para sa kahandaan ng bagong contractor sa pagsisimula ng kanilang maintenance work.
“Staying on to maintain the MRT for one more month will only cover up for the lack of preparedness of their supposed successor as well the as the negligence and incompetence of the DOTC, not to mention the shenanigans in the emergency procurement negotiations conducted by the DOTC for the P4.3 billion three-year MRT maintenance contract” pahayag pa ni Bacar.
Nilinaw pa Bacar na ang isang buwang extension ay makakaapekto lamang sa paniningil ng bayad sa DOTC dahil sa papalyang maintenance services na magdudulot ng rail stoppages at rail line incidents.
Magugunitang ang SBI-CBT JV ay nagsampa ng kasong graft sa Ombudsman laban kina DOTC Undersecretary for Operations Edwin Lopez, MRT3 general manager Roman Buenafe, at iba pang MRT 3 executives dahil sa unpaid billings na may halagang P102 milyon.
