MANILA, Philippines – Naglaan ng P106.138 milyon ang Department of National Defense (DND) para sa pagbili ng bala ng mga bagong FA-50 fighter jets.
Aabot sa 93,600 rounds ng 20 mm ammunition ang bibilhin ng DND upang makargahan ang Korean-made fighter jets' A50 gun system.
Sinabi ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson Col. Restituto Padilla na sa AFP Modernization Act Trust Fund manggagaling ang pondo.
Magsasagawa ng public bidding at pre-bid conference ang DND sa AFP national headquarters sa Camp Aguinaldo sa Quezon City sa Miyerkules.
"Part of the procurement process is the armament system for our FA-50 fighters. This purchase is part of the arms acquisition package for our aircraft," pahayag ni Padilla.
Bumili ang Pilipinas ng 12 FA-50 na nagkakahalaga ng P18.9 bilyon mula as Korea Aerospace Industries.
Dalawang unit na ng fighter jets ang naipadala sa Pilipinas nitong Nobyembre 2015, habang ang 10 pa ay darating ngayong taon hanggang 2017.
