70K OFWs gagamit ng postal voting sa 2016

MANILA, Philippines – Gagamit ng postal voting ang mahigit 70,000 overseas Filipino workers na nais bumoto sa May 2016 elections.

Ayon sa Comelec, 75,363 voters ang maaring bumoto sa 26 embassies o post sa mga tukoy na bansa kabilang ang Lisbon (European Region); Bangkok, Brunei, Chongqing, Dhaka, Dili, Guangzou, Islamabad, Jakarta, Macau, Manado, Meco Kaohsiung, Meco Taichung, Meco Taipei, New Delhi, Phnom Penh, Shanghai, Vientiane, and Xiamen (Asia Pacific Region); Abuja, Amman, Cairo, Muscat, Nairobi, Pretoria, at Tehran (Middle East and African Region).

May kabuuang 1.1 million voters para sa Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV) mula sa 30 posts partikular sa North at Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, at Middle East ang gagamit ng automated election system sa pamamagitan ng Voter Counting Machines (VCM).

Ang OAV voters ay boboto lamang para sa posisyon ng president, vice president, senators, at party-list group.

Magsisimula ang botohan sa April 9-May 9, 2016.
