MANILA, Philippines - Hindi nagpatinag ang Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), Land Transportation Office (LTO) at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFB) at nakadakip agad ng 10 kolorum na bus.
Ipinatupad ng LTO at LTFRB ang Joint Administrative Order (JAO) laban sa mga pampublikong sasakyan na walang prangkisa o may mga pasong prangkisa.
“Carry on with the good job so far of enforcing safety measures which will protect motorists and commuters alike. Let’s continue creating a culture of road discipline for the public good," pahayag ni DOTC Secretary Jun Abaya.
Narito ang mga nahuling bus:
- Dalawang Bachelor Express bus sa Region 10 na biyaheng Butuan City hanggang Cagayan.
- Buenasher Transport Corp. (PVH-460). Biyaheng EDSA ang bus na paso ang prangkisa mula pa noong Enero 23.
- Lucena Lines (TYK-695) sa Alaminos, Laguna. Paso ang prangkisa at rehistro.
- Jerel Transport Corp. (Sunrays Bus Lines) sa Region 7, na may plakang GWF-633.
- Dalawang Super 5 bus sa Region 5, biyaheng Maynila.
- AOM Bus sa Region 5 mula Naga City patungong Legazpi City.
-Dalin Liner sa Region 2, na may plakang BVB-591
- NELBUSCO sa Region 2 (BVK-502).
“The LTO is serious in putting a stop to rampant violations of land transportation rules and regulations. As part of our reform program, one of our priorities is to instill orderliness on our roads, for both public utility and private vehicles,†LTO Assistant Secretary Alfonso Tan Jr.
Aabot sa P6,000 ang multa sa mga motorsiklo, P50,000 sa mga jeep, P120,000 sa mga kotse, P200,000 sa mga van at trak, at halos P1 milyon sa mga bus.
“These colorum buses have been impounded in accordance with JAO 2014-01, and the fines will go straight to the National Treasury, once paid. Let this be a warning to colorum operators. The LTO will enforce traffic rules for the sole purpose of ensuring safety in land transportation."
