Mas mabigat na parusa para sa monopolyo sa negosyo giit

MANILA, Philippines - Isinusulong ni Deputy House Speaker at 2nd district Leyte Rep. Sergio Apostol ang panukalang batas na nagbibigay ng mas mabigat na parusa para sa hindi patas at pagmomonopolyo ng negosyo ng mga dayuhan dito sa Pilipinas.

Sa House Bill 4329 o ang Philippine Fair Competition Act of 2014 o Anti-Trust Law ni Apostol, itinatakda nito ang mas mabigat na parusa para sa unfair trade practices tulad ng monopolies, anti-competitive mergers, anti-competitive agreements at abuse of dominant position.

Bukod dito, itatatag din ng panukala ang Philippine Fair Competition Commission na isang independent body na mag-iimbestiga at magsasampa ng kaso laban sa mga kumpanya, negosyante at iba pang indibidwal na sangkot sa unfair trade practices.

Sa sandaling maisabatas ay maaaring magmulta ng P10 hanggang P50 milyon para sa indibidwal at P250-million to P750-million multa naman para sa kumpanyang lalabag dito habang 10 taong pagkakakulong sa mga opisyal ng kumpanya at deportasyon para naman sa mga dayuhan matapos nilang magbayad ng multa at makulong.

“Protection against price manipulation is an effective way by which the government can provide our people better access to various goods and commodities in the market,”. “By providing an equal playing field in the business sector, consumers will have improved access to affordable quality goods,” ayon pa kay Apostol.

Nauna na rin naghain sina Sen. Bam Aquino, House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. at Reps. Rufus Rodriguez at Marcelino Teodoro ng magkakaibang bersyon ng Philippine Fair Competition Act o  Anti-Trust Law.
