COA chief gustong maging SC Associate Justice

MANILA, Philippines –  Inilabas ng Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) ngayong Huwebes ang listahan ng mga aplikante para sa posisyong Supreme Court Associate Justice kasunod nang pagreretiro ni Associate Justice Roberto Abad sa Mayo 22.

Umabot sa 14 ang nag-apply para sa mababakanteng posisyon at kabilang dito si Commission on Audit (COA) Chair Maria Gracia Pulido-Tan, na siyang nanguna sa paglalabas ng special audit report kung saan nabuking ang pork barrel scam.

Nag-apply din si COA Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, habang pito ang taga Court of Appeals na sina Presiding Justice Andres Reyes, Jr., Associate Justices na sina Nina Antonio-Valenzuela, Apolinario Bruselas, Rosmari Carandang, Ramon Paul Hernando, Jose Reyes Jr. at Noel Tijam.

Mula naman sa Sandiganbayan sina Associate Justices Maria Cristina Cornejo at Rafael Lagos.

Kabilang din sa listahan sina Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza, De La Salle University College of Law Dean Jose Manuel Diokno at Quezon City Regional Trial Court Judge Reynaldo Daway.

Sasalain ng JBC ang listahan ng mga aplikante at magbibigay ng rekomendasyon kay Pangulong Benigno Aquino III.
