Panalo sa Villar Sipag Awards kinilala

MANILA, Philippines - Itinanghal kahapon ng Villar SIPAG (Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance) ang 10 Most Outstanding Community Enterprises at 10 Most Promising Community Enterprises na hinirang mula sa may 200 entries sa buong kapuluan sa isang simpleng seremonya na ginanap sa Villar SIPAG, C5 Extension Road, Las Piñas City.

Kabilang sa 10 Most Outstanding Community Enterprises ang Andres M. Soriano Employees Fresh Fruits Cooperative, Kapalong, Davao del Norte; Baclaran Vendors Development Cooperative, Baclaran Parañaque; Bukluran Multi Purpose Cooperative, Dasmariñas, Cavite; Kalasag Farmers Producers Cooperative, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija; Malapatan Multi Purpose Cooperative, Malapatan, Sarangani; Nueva Segovia Consortium Cooperative, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur; Paglaum Multi Purpose Cooperative, Misamis, Occidental; People’s Alliance for Progress Multi Purpose Cooperative, Panamao, Sulu; San Francisco Associations of Differently-Abled Person Multi Purpose Cooperative San Francisco, Agusan Del Sur; at San Joaquin Multi Purpose Cooperative, Sarat, Ilocos Norte.

Ang 10 Most Promising Community Enterprises ay: Catmon Multipurpose Cooperative sa Catmon, Sta. Maria, Bulacan; Davao Ventures Employees Cooperative, Calinan, Davao City; Danlugan Farmers Multi Purpose Cooperative, Danlugan, Pagadian City; Davao Oriental Coco Husk Social Enterprises, Inc., San Isidro, Davao Oriental; Ipil Market Vendors Multi Purpose Cooperative, Ipil, Zambaonga Sigubay; Light House Cooperative; Paco Soriano Pandacan Development Cooperative, Paco, Manila; People’s Officials, Employees and Community Multi Purpose Cooperative, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte; Southern Iloilo Area Multipurpose Cooperative in Oton, Iloilo at Valenzuela Development Cooperative sa Valenzuela City, Metro Manila.

Tumanggap ng P250,000 cash ang bawat isang nanalo sa Most Outstanding Community Enterprises samantalang P100,000 cash naman ang nakamit ng bawat isang nanalo sa Most Promising Community Enterprises.

Ang criteria sa paghirang sa mga nanalo sa bawat kategorya ay effectiveness, significance, financial viability, sustainability and adaptability. Nagsagawa rin ng serye ng screening, site validations at interview ang team of validators sa pangunguna ni Prof. Edel Guiza ng Asian institute of Management (AIM).

Ang Villar SIPAG Awards for Poverty Reduction, isang nationwide search, ay inilunsad noong Agosto para kilalanin ang kakaibang nagawa ng community enterprises na nagresulta sa local economic development at pag-ulad ng buhay ng pamayanan.

Sinabi ni Villar SIPAG founding chairman, da­ting­­ former Senate President Manny Villar, na sinimulan nila ang patimpalak na ito upang bigyan ng karangalan at suportahan ang social enterprises na nakatulong upang makapagbigay ng hanapbuhay at pagkakakitaan sa isang komunidad.
