Independent probe body para sa 'sex-for-fly' scheme dapat buuin

MANILA, Philippines – Nais ng migrant workers’ rights group na magbuo ang gobyerno ng isang high level independent investigating body upang tutukan ang ‘sex-for-flight’ scheme kung saan kabilang umano ang labor officials sa Gitnang Silangan.

Sinabi ni Migrante vice chairperson John Monterona na hindi magiging kapani-paniwala ang magiging resulta ng parallel investigation ng Department of Foreign Affairs at Department of Labor and Employment.

"If PNoy government is really sincere in its fight against human trafficking and exploitation, on whatever forms, victimizing thousands of OFWs yearly, then it should create a high-level independent body to investigate the ‘sex-for-flight’ modus operandi," pahayag ni Monterona.

Dagdag ng grupo na mas magiging katiwa-tiwala ang gagawing imbestigasyon ng high-level independent body.

Samantala, muling nanawagan ang Migrante  sa gobyerno na pabilisin ang pagpapauwi sa mga na-stranded na overseas Filipino worker na pansamantalang nanunuluyan ngayon sa Bahay Kalinga at Filipino Workers Resource Center sa Saudi Arabia iba’t ibang parte ng Gitnang Silangan.

"We want to streamline the repatriation process to attain a speedy repatriation of distressed OFWs. Of course, it needs government-to-government consistent interface with the host country," ani Monterona.
