Gil Cuerva hindi namimili ng role

MANILA, Philippines — Okay lang kay Gil Cuerva kung nagsimula siyang bida (sa My Love From The Star noong 2017) at ngayon ay support na lang siya nina Yasmien Kurdi, Bea Binene at Gabbi Garcia sa Beautiful Justice.

“Oh yeah, yeah, definitely! Siyempre being lead is a good thing but mas priority ko talaga is to get work.” Walang kaso sa kanya kung anong role ang bigay sa kanya.

“Kasi I’m looking at the bigger picture kasi. ‘Yung bigger picture kasi for me is to get better, you only get better thru more experience, to having more shows, having more taping.

“So if right now iyan yung mga ino-offer pa lang sa akin, I’ll take it. I’ll gladly take it, one hundred percent, one hundred twenty percent. As long as mabigyan lang ako ng chance to do better.”

Matipid naman ang sagot ni Gil nang matanong tungkol sa kanyang lovelife. “Ganun pa rin.” Matagal na sila ng girlfriend niya na ayon sa kanya ay swimsuit designer at host.

Samantala, hindi sa pag-aartista lamang nais ni Gil na mag-excel. Napag-alaman namin na nais magsulat ni Gil. “Actually feeling ko ang problema sa akin is marami akong iniisip, hindi ko na nasusulat. So hopefully in the future when I get older, I get more experience mabigyan ako ng chance to maybe, I don’t know, write a short film, or write a movie.”

Naitanong naman sa kanya kung ano ba ang goal niya.

“As an actor, I want to portray a role na may impact. Siyempre sa ngayon people remember me as Matteo but I want to portray a character that people will remember so much na… hindi naman sa makakalimutan si Matteo pero parang people will say na, ‘Ah siya si Matteo pero siya rin si ganyan-ganyan, sa ganyan.’

“So as an actor that’s my goal. But my overall goal sa showbiz, siguro I wanna have a huge part in a movie. When I say huge part, hindi as an actor.  

“Whether as a scriptwriter, or whether as producer or whether as a director.

“If I reach that point, alam ko parang, ‘Wow! I’m given the complete freedom to create a story. And at the end of the day, I see myself kasi as a story creator.

“When you’re the actor, you’re a character in the story, but I wanna be a storyteller, a story creator. I want to create a story.
“So iyan yung goal ko for myself. I wanna be able to create a story whether it’s a short film or a movie, or a teleserye.” Pagtatapos ni Gil.
