Baka mag-ala Megan Young Miss World Philippines na si Hillarie Danielle naghakot ng special awards

Kinoronahan bilang Miss World Philippines 2015 ang candidate #19 na taga-Nueva Vizcaya na si Hillarie Danielle Parungao noong nakaraang October 18 sa The Theater at Solaire Resort and Casino.

Tinanggap nga niya ang korona mula sa nanalo last year na si Valerie Weigmann.

Higit sa 25 candidates ang tinalo ni Hillarie noong gabing iyon.

Naghakot din si Hillarie ng special awards: Best in Sports Challenge, Best in Fashion Runway, Best in Swimsuit, at Best in Long Gown.

Napanalunan din niya ang ilang special awards pa mula sa mga sponsors ng pageant: Miss Zen Institute, Miss Technomarine, Miss Solaire, Miss Figlia, at Miss Phoenix.

Mga naging runners-up ni Hillarie sina Marita Cassandra Naidas (#14, First Princess), Mia Allyson Howell (#21, Second Princess), Ma. Vanessa Wright (#1, Third Princess), at Emma Mari Tiglao (#12, Fourth Princess).

Gaganapin sa December 19 ang Miss World 2015 sa Sanya, China.

Nanalo last year si Hillarie bilang Miss Asia Pacific World Philippines na ginanap sa Seoul, South Korea.

Nakuha niya ang puwestong 3rd runner-up at Grand National Costume award. Si Miss Myanmar ang nanalo Miss Asia Pacific World 2014.

Buhay ni Pacman ipapalabas sa HBO

Magpi-premiere sa October 21 sa Red by HBO Asia ang pelikulang Kid Kulafu kung saan bida si Buboy Villar bilang si Manny Pacquiao.

Si Paul Soriano ang director nito at masayang-masaya siya dahil maraming imbitasyon para sa pelikula nila sa iba’t ibang film festivals abroad kabilang na nga itong pag-premiere sa HBO.

Nanalo na sa Guam International Film Festival last August si Buboy Villar na Achievement In Acting.

Nag-premiere na rin ang Kid Kulafu sa Raindance Film Festival in London at isa nga ito sa 10 must-see films sa naturang festival.

Naimbitahan din ang Kid Kulafu sa Tokyo International Film Festival ngayong October kung saan mapapanood ito sa dalawang screenings ng CrossCut Asia Section.

Sa November naman ay kasali ito sa mga mapapanood sa Hawaii International Film Festival kung saan imbitado rin ang mga pelikulang Magkakabaung, Honor Thy Father, Heneral Luna, at Violator.

Meryl Streep balik Berlin International Filmfest bilang Jury President

Ang three-time Oscar winner na si Meryl Streep ang napiling maging jury president sa 66th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2016.

In her 40 years of acting, first time nga raw na maging jury president si Meryl para sa isang film festival.

“It is a thrill to return to the festival under any circumstances, but it is with great relish and anticipation I look forward to jury duty.

“The responsibility is somewhat daunting, as I have never been president of anything before, and I hope I can come up to the precedent set by the distinguished juries of preceding years. Grateful for the honor,” sey pa ni Streep.

Nanalo na noon si Meryl ng Silver Bear award ng Berlinale noong 2003 para sa pelikulang The Hours kung saan kahati niya sa award ang mga co-stars niyang sina Nicole Kidman at Julianne Moore.

In 2012, binigyan ng lifetime achievement award si Meryl ng Berlinale.

“Meryl Streep is one of the most creative and multifaceted film artists.

“To mark our enthusiasm for her extraordinary talent, we awarded her the Honourary Golden Bear in 2012 for her lifetime achievement,” ayon pa sa Berlinale Director Dieter Kosslick.

“I am very happy that she is returning to Berlin and with her artistic experience will take on the chairmanship of the International Jury.”
