Billy nagpupumilit panoorin ang ginawa nina Coleen at Derek

Mata ng boyfriend patatakpan nalang daw 

Launching film ni Coleen Garcia sa Star Cine­ma ang Ex With Benefits kung saan ay bida sila ni Derek Ramsay at ayon sa young actress, medyo natakot talaga siya na bigyan ng ganito kalaking project.

“It’s scary in a way, I’m very, very nervous, but at the same time, I’m very excited. I think, the strongest emotion is still excitement. I’m really looking forward to it, pero kabado pa rin. Hindi talaga mawawala ‘yun, I think, mawawala lang ‘yun after the premiere night,” sabi ni Coleen sa presscon ng Ex With Benefits last Saturday.

Sa trailer pa lang ay ipinakikita na ang mga sizzling love scene nina Derek and Coleen at bilang first-timer siya sa ganitong mga eksena, natanong ang young actress kung paano siya nag-prepare para rito.

“As far as preparation goes for those scenes, actually, pinag-usapan naming tatlo, ni direk Gino (Santos) and ni Derek, we were very collaborative on everything, and sinasabi ni direk, “okay, eto ‘yung blocking n’yo, so anon’g gagawin n’yo?” And I really appreciated that na tinatanong kami, “anon’g gagawin n’yo?” So, it helped us in a way kasi we got to work around what we were comfortable with also.

“So, ayun, nag-usap-usap kami, and we talked about it so much na kailangan one take talaga, kailangan todo bigay talaga para hindi na kami aabot sa take two, and true enough, hindi kami umabot sa take 2 sa mga scenes na ‘yun and I guess, the key is to prepare less but to discuss about it more. To not, actually, do take two, take three. ‘Yung ire-rehearse mo na kasama ‘yung director and ‘yung kasama mo sa eksena, just so it’s clear to everybody what’s suppose to happen,” esplika ni Coleen.

Nagpaalam ba siya sa kanyang boyfriend na si Billy Crawford sa mga love scenes na ‘yun?

“Siyempre, siyempre naman,” sambit niya. “Before I even accepted the role, sinabi ko na. Hindi sa paalam, pero sinabi ko, like I’m gonna be doing this, and everything. And he’s been very understanding.”

Seloso ang boyfriend niya, ‘di ba?

“Oo, pero ‘yung pa-cute na seloso lang. Hindi ‘yung nakakatakot,” natatawa niyang say.

Manonood ba si Billy sa premiere night?

“Pinipilit ko siya na huwag muna manood. Pero nagpumilit siya na gusto niya talagang manood. Kaya I’m gonna have somebody sit beside him and close his eyes ‘pag kailangan na,” natatawa pang sabi ni Coleen.

Derek at Coleen malaki ang respeto sa mga med rep

Samantala, comeback film naman ni Derek sa Star Cinema ang Ex With Benefits after Praybeyt Benjamin and No Other Woman kasama na rin ang Corazon: Ang Unang Aswang under Skylight Films.

Ayon sa aktor ay ninenerbyos din siya but more than anything ay masayang-masaya raw siya that he got to work again under the production that made him who he is today.

“Sabi ko nga, dito ako natutong umarte, dito ako naging Derek. I got to work with lots of great directors, lots of great actors and actresses because of Star Cinema. They trusted me to be paired with these people.

“So, yeah, I can say that I’m glad to be back and I’m glad to be here and hopefully, I get to do more work,” sabi ni Derek.

Samantala, sa naturang presscon ay sinagot din ng cast ang tungkol sa pagkaka-offend ng mga me­dical representative (med reps) sa trailer ng movie.

Ayon kay Derek, hindi naman daw nila layuning maka-offend ng kahit sino.

“Of course, we don’t want to offend anyone. This movie is not about med reps and trying to stereotype medreps. We have full respect for med reps and what they do. Sinabi ko nga na mahirap ang trabaho ng isang med rep dahil one thing that they have to do is convince the doctors and gain their trust to endorse their product. So to get the trust of the doctor, you need to know a lot about the product you’re representing.

“At first I felt why they are they judging, you know, we shouldn’t live our lives making assumptions. Sana, panoorin muna ‘yung pelikula and then, if they still feel that way, they can address it and we can give our explanation. But I’m telling you now, kapag napanood na nila ‘to, wala na silang maia-address,” pahayag ni Derek.

Ayon naman kay Coleen, siya ang gumaganap na med rep sa movie kaya alam niyang mahirap itong trabaho.

“’Yung mga mine-memorize ko pa lang na lines, sobrang hirap na, pa’no pa kaya sila, ‘yung mga inaaral nila, ‘di ba? So, it’s really such a hard profession and I really have respect for med reps.

“I understand why they got offended and if it’s something that’s sensitive, I understand why they got offended. But ‘yung sa akin lang, I just hope that they give the movie a chance and I just hope that you know, they help us prove to them that it’s not about that.

“And the focus of the movie is really not about the doctor and the med rep, it’s not about a relationship between a doctor and the med rep, it’s about two exes who found each other again after 10 years. Kung ano ang mangyayari sa story nila, it’s about the history that they had, because you know, they had history long before they were a doctor and a med rep. Nagkataon na ‘yun ang profession nila,” paliwanag ni Coleen.

Ex with Benefits is showing on Sept 2 nationwide at kasama rin dito sina Meg Imperial, Rayver Cruz, Tirso Cruz III, Carmi Martin, Kitkat, Juan Rodrigo, Nina Ricci Alagao, Jobelle Salvador, and Megge Cobarrubias.
