YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

Wednesday evening, isang victory salu-salo ang inihandog ng Star Cinema sa cast, crew, and production staff of their blockbuster entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), ang Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy which had Vice Ganda playing all four roles.

Star Cinema co-produced the movie with Viva Films. No wonder the presence of Viva Films executive June Rufino and producer Herme Go sa nabanggit na gathering.

Vice Ganda came from his taping for the Sunday episode of his ABS-CBN show Gandang Gabi, Vice. Direk Wenn Deramas, who has consistently directed Vice Ganda in his blockbuster movies, came in a formal outfit, courtesy of Maricel Soriano who received a trophy for best actress for her performance in Girl, Boy… in the MMFF Awards Night.

Question lang: Why was Maricel a no-show at the party? Another no-show was child actor JM Bañez.

Well, other members of the cast of Girl, Boy… present were supporting players Kiray Celis and Xyriel Manabat.

Back to school pala si Xyriel who, at 10 years old, looks like a lady as she acts prim and proper na. Grade IV na pala siya.

Child actress Red Bustamante was present, too.

Tahimik sa kanyang upuan si JC de Vera, who was pala Vice Ganda’s choice for his ‘‘girl’’ role.

JC naman is in the upcoming series, The Legal Wife, top billed by Angel Locsin.

JC nakipag-beso-beso na kay Annabelle

First project ito ni JC de Vera for Star Cinema, since his decision to sign a contract with ABS-CBN, nang mag-expire ang kanyang contract with TV5.

How did JC react when Ruffa Gutierrez, who was also in the cast of Girl, Boy… when he saw Ruffa’s mom, Annabelle Rama?

Well, JC stood up and gave both Annabelle and Ruffa a peck on the cheek.

‘‘Walang away o anumang tampuhang namagitan sa amin ni JC,’’ ani Annabelle, when we told her na happy kami at ‘di niya inisnab si JC. ‘‘Kaya walang reason for me to snob him.

‘‘Bago ko siya isinabak sa assignments I had him undergo acting workshops with Gina Alajar, Beverly Vergel, at Direk Laurice Guillen.

Why she and JC separated, ayon kay Annabelle, ang paghihiwalay ay ’di maiiwasan between manager and talent.

As we all know, tumakbo si Annabelle sa second district of Cebu para maging congresswoman. Kaso nga ’di siya nagkapalad na manalo.

Now, back siya to her old self. And, of course, her husband Eddie Gutierrez.

As we all know, too, the Gutierrezes have a reality show upcoming, ang It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez.

Going back to the Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy victory blowout, it was graced by no less than ABS-CBN president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio plus si Viva Films Boss Vic del Rosario.

Bago matapos ang salu-salo, Ma’am Charo handed each of the people involved with Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy with a white envelope while they all received it grinning ear to ear.
