Seryosong mag-negosyo: Raymond ayaw munang magpatali sa kontrata

Had Raymond Gutierrez agreed to sign up a contract with TV5, he would be an exclusive Ka­patid talent now.

But he prefers daw to be a freelancer. Thus, his commitment sa TV5 is just the showbiz talk prog­ram na Showbiz Police, airing na starting tonight (Saturday, 6 p.m.) kasama sina Cristy Fermin, Direk Joey Reyes, at Ormoc Cong­ress­woman Lucy Torres-Gomez as his co-hosts.

‘‘Should they want me for ano­ther showbiz it will be an entirely new negotiation. And I’m glad, they understand. Especially, Tita Wilma (Galvan­te, who is now head entertainment of the network).

‘‘Kung sabagay, I was honest to them naman, kay Tita Wilma lalo. I told them na may iba na akong mga endeavor ngayon, yes, na walang kinalaman sa showbiz.

‘‘Nagtayo ako ng business, with some friends, tulad ng isang café-restaurant located on top of a new building in Makati.

“May balak din ako na magsimula ng business which concerns public relations at events.

‘‘I want to be busy as well as host of corporate shows. And since I love writing, I will go into it, though not necessarily full time pero as often as time would allow me,’’ pahayag pa ni Raymond.

Right now, he is a member of the editorial staff of a glossy magazine.

It was by accident daw that he discovered he would be a TV host. Prior to that, he wanted to finish college in the US.

Would you believe that he has been a TV host for 10 years now? He was 19 nang unang sumabak siya sa pagiging TV host. And, so far so good.

Admitting that he is may pagkakuripot, he is now totally independent from his family. He lives on his own in a plush unit in an expensive condominium in Rockwell. Pag-aari raw niya ang nabanggit na unit.

He lives alone. Siya ang nagpe-prepare ng lahat ng pangangailangan niya. Pagluluto ng kanyang kinakain. Pagligpit ng kanyang mga kinainan. And whatever.

An outside help, courtesy of his mother Annabelle Rama, comes to his unit twice a week para tulungan siyang linisin ito. A laundry shop in the area takes care of his maruruming damit. ’Yung mga intimate apparel niya, siya na ang naglalaba.

Iyon daw ang maganda kapag la­king Amerika ka, where he and twin brother Richard were born.

Matanda raw si Richard sa kanya by five mi­nutes. Which obviously daw is the reason why Chard to­lerates him. And, at times, pamper him.

May contribution daw ang kakambal na aktor sa mga bago niyang kasangkapan sa bago niyang condo unit.

Asked if it is true that Richard would soon sign up with TV5, ang maliksing sagot ni Raymond, he has no idea. What he knows daw is that for their initial preparation ng Showbiz Police, they will have for guests Richard and eldest sibling, Ruffa. He will do most of the interviewing. And he will make sure that there will be no holds barred.

How he plans to do it, just wait and see, Raymond beamed.
