Asawa ni Sen. Koko niresbakan si Zubiri

Nakikipagsabayan ang mga pulitiko at ang kanilang mga pamilya sa mga isyu ng mga artista.

Bakit ko ito nasabi? Dahil sa statement na natanggap ko mula sa dating beauty queen na si Jewel Lobaton, ang estranged wife ni Senator Koko Pimentel. Naglabas ng statement si Jewel dahil wala raw katotohanan ang sinabi ni former Senator Miguel Zubiri na battered wife siya. Sa totoo lang, hindi ko alam ang puno’t-dulo ng kontrobersiya pero pamilyar ako sa kuwento ng maingay na paghihiwalay nina Senator Koko at Jewel.

Nabasa ko rin na may possibility na magkabalikan ang estranged couple but that’s another story.

Heto muna ang denial at official statement ni Jewel na kumokontra sa paniniwala at pahayag ni Migz:

“Sometime in June 2012 I sought help from a friend regarding the custody issue of my children with my husband Senator Koko Pimentel. This person called his friend Migz Zubiri, who is related to me, if he (Migz) can help me.

“A meeting was arranged by this person sometime in July 2012 in his residence in Makati at around 9:30 in the evening. Migz Zubiri and Audrey Zubiri were there.

“During that meeting, my friend did most of the talking. I cannot remember anymore everything that my friend discussed. But the issue I wanted help on was the matter of the custody of my children. I remember crying that night because I was greatly affected by this custody issue and felt hopeless. Strategies were discussed on how to get the children from Koko.

“I remember Migz Zubiri saying that we can come out in television together and the whole clan of Colmenares (immediate family) will be there, and he even said his message for this media plan. The meeting ended around 11:30 pm. There was a media plan na napag-usapan that evening. Migz and Audrey assured me of their support and prayers.

In the meantime, Koko and I were able to resolve the issue of custody, bearing in mind the best interest of the children. We were able to come up with our own system of “shared custody” of the children.

“ Hence, a few days after the meeting, I called Audrey Zubiri and informed her that I got the children already. I extended my gratefulness for their prayers and she thanked me too and told me THAT THEIR FAMILY (ZUBIRI’S) DECIDED NOT TO USE MY MARITAL ISSUES WITH MY HUSBAND KOKO PIMENTEL in any of Migz Zubiri’s propaganda in his senate bid in 2013.

“I categorically state that I have never claimed nor complained to Migz Zubiri that I was a battered wife. In the close to twelve years that we lived together, my husband Koko Pimentel has never ever physically hurt me.

“I am trying my best to resolve my differences with my husband Senator Koko Pimentel in order to save our marriage not only for my own interest but more importantly for the best interest of the children.

“For the best interest of my children, please keep my marital issues out of the campaign issues for a senate seat this 2013 elections. My marital issues are not national issues. And my children have been greatly affected. Please spare my two sons, as they are mere children aged 8 and 3 years old respectively.

“I ask those who claim to have been blessed with happy and perfect marriages to please not delight that others are in difficult or troubled marriages.”

Inilagay ni Jewel sa dulo ng kanyang official statement ang cellphone number niya para siguro sa mga tao na gustong mag-verify o magtanong tungkol sa isyu.

Hintayin natin ang sagot ni Migz dahil impo­sibleng hindi siya mag-react. Hindi magandang ting­nan na parang nang-iintriga o gumagawa siya ng isyu para umingay ang kanyang kandidatura sa pagka-senador.

Gusto ni Jewel na tumulong sa kampanya ni Senator Koko pero hindi ito pumayag. Sinabi ni Senator Koko sa kanyang estranged wife na mas mainam na alagaan nito ang kanilang mga anak.

Mas kailangan ngayon si Jewel ng mga bata dahil abala nga sa pangangampanya si Senator Koko kaya wala itong oras para sa kanilang mga bagets.
