Ronnie at Mariz nasorpresa ng anak na gustong mag-artista

YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

It’s obvious na more than his comeback as a producer, director, and star of The Fighting Chefs ay mas excited pa si Ronnie Ricketts and, of course, his former singer-actress wife Mariz, for their 18-year-old daughter Marella who will be introduced in the movie.

Marella’s decision to do The Fighting Chefs surprised daw both Ronnie and Mariz kasi they know their daughter, a college student at the Ateneo University, na walang desire to follow their footsteps.

Sayang nga at wala ang dalaga sa presscon ng pelikulang kinabibilangan nina Chef Boy Logro, Hero Angeles, Vandolph, Jeffrey Santos, Joross Gamboa, John Hall, Arci Muñoz, and Onyok Velasco, at pati na special role nina Mark Gil, Roi Vinzon, at Roldan Aquino.

Ronnie plays the owner of the restaurant called Elite Square na ang mga recipe ay sinasabing ’di lang masarap at miraculous. As master chef of his own restaurant, Ronnie produces a herbal soup na siyang dahilan kung bakit ang owner ng lupang kinatitirikan ng kanyang business establishment ay gumaling sa karamdaman nitong terminal na.

As head of the Optical Media Board (OMB), we asked Ronnie how he will react and what will he do in case may nag-pirate sa kanyang pelikula na he thinks has all the ingredients, wika nga, of a good and interesting film.

Sagot ni Ronnie: ‘‘I doubt if they will do that to me. Kinaibigan ko na sila. Pinakiusapan. Kaya bawas na bawas na ang mga namimirata ng mga pelikula.’’

Dedicated to his work as OMB head, Ronnie said he had to ask Malacañang’s permission to do the movie.

Their advice to him ay not to do The Fighting Chefs during working days and hours.

This, despite, her success as a singer even abroad. And as a politician as well.

Kumakain siyang nakakamay sa isang restaurant where she organized a presscon for the entertainment press to announce na legally ay tuloy na ang kanyang pagtakbo for a congressional seat sa San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Papalaot muli si Imelda sa pulitika after manilbihan for two terms as vice governor ng Camarines Sur and then decided to quit and lead a quiet life anew both din dito sa Pilipinas at sa Amerika, where ang nagi-isa niyang anak na si Maffi at ang family nito ay namimirmihan.

This time, however, Imelda purposely decided na huwag ng tumakbo sa CamSur. Instead, pinili niyang maging kandidato sa San Jose del Monte City nga where she and a brother (and his family) considered home since the year 2000.

In fact, she said, ’di lang siya may bahay doon kundi may building pa rin siya which serves bilang lugar ng kanyang manufacturing business ng powder soap. Whatever they are able to produce, na usually in very large quantity, ay in turn sold to a businessman who packages it and distributes it sa malls and groceries.

But thanks to her lawyers Atty. Romulo Macalintal (who happens to be the lawyer, too, of Aga Muhlach who encountered the same problem but was able to prove that he has every right to run for congressman in the fourth district of CamSur in this year’s local elections) and Atty. Edgard Carlo Vistan na nagpatunay na Imelda has every right din legally to ‘‘have access to opportunities for and render public service as guaranteed by the constitution in order to prevent political dynasties.’’

Well, good luck Imelda!
