MANILA, Philippines - The Batangas Earth and Wind Festival holds its inaugural staging this Sunday with bikers and runners taking center stage in Barnagay Malabanan, Balete, Batangas.
Activities are themed based on the two different elements that the festival celebrates, namely, earth and wind. The earth will be represented by a 10-km trail run at 5 a.m. while the mountain bike cross-country race is set at 8 a.m.
The event also marks the onset of the province’s “Bisita Batangas†campaign for 2014.
The two events will let participants experience the earth elements as they tackle the challenging courses.
On the other hand, the wind will be represented by a kite-making activity at the Lima Park Hotel in Malvar, Batangas. This will be followed by kite flying from the grounds of Malabanan Batangas at 3 p.m.
The Batangas Earth and Wind Festival is a project of First Asia Institute of Technology and Humanities and Lima Park Hotel with support from Diwa Learning Systems, Honda Cars Batangas City, and the municipality of Balete.
The event organizer is Team Ganit with help from the Kite Association of the Philippines.
