PhilSA scholarship ­inaalok sa Pinoy students

MAY scholarship na inaalok ang Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) sa mga estudyanteng Pilipino na interesadong maging space scientists at engineers. Kabilang dito ang Advanced Degrees for Accelerating Strategic Space R&D and Applications (ADASTRA) Scholarship program na naglalayong magbigay ng tulong pinansiyal sa mga estudyanteng nakatapos ng ­Bachelor’s degree at nagnanais na makakuha ng graduate o doctorate degree sa mga larangang may kaugnayan sa Space Science and Technology and Applications (SSTA) sa mga local o international higher educational institutions.

Sa isang in person session na idinaos sa pagdiriwang ng Department of Science and Techno­logy sa National Science and Technology Week noong Nobyembre, itinuro ng PhilSA sa mga dumalong estudyante ang tungkol sa naturang scholarship na isang oportunidad para makapag-aral sila nang libre at makapasok sa larangan ng space science.

Sinabi ng PhilSA na ang ADASTRA ay nagbibigay ng full, partial, lateral, at sandwich program scholarships sa mga estudyanteng gustong makakuha ng advanced degrees sa mga larangang may kaugnayan sa SSTA tulad ng System Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Digital and Analogue Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, RF Electronics, Software Engineering, Orbit, Dynamics Mission and Synthesis, Data Analytics, Atmospheric Science, Hydrological Science, Climate Change and Variability, Ocean Science, Geological Science, Earth Science Applications, Earth System Modelling, Biology and Biogeochemistry of Ecosystems, Geospatial Science and Technologies, Fundamental Physics, Nanoscience, Astronomy and Astrophysics, Space Physics, Planetary Science, Terrestrial and Planetary Environmental Science and Engineering, Nanotechnology, Space Education, Space Industry, Space Law, Space Policy at  Space Diplomacy.

Kabilang sa mga benepisyong matatanggap ng mga estudyanteng makapapasa sa scholarship ang libreng matrikula at ibang school fees; Stipend (accommodation, meals, incidental expenses); Book Allowance (para sa full scholarship holder sa minimum na isang taon); technological Support (Covers provision of laptop and basic monthly internet connection/communication expenses para sa local scholarship holder); Round-trip Transportation Allowance; Pre-departure Allowance (For grantees enrolled in universities abroad); Relocation Allowance (For grantees accepted to a University in a Region/country away from his/her current place of residence); Disability Support (For grantees with disabilities); Extra Academic Activities (Covers membership to professional societies, student clubs/ organizations, and participation to study visits, workshops, and seminars in line with the study); Thesis/Dissertation Allowance (if applicable); at Research Grant (If applicable); at iba pa.

Nagsalita sa nabanggit na sesyon sina  Senior Science Research Specialist Mr. Marco Melgar ng PhilSA Space Education and Scholarships Division, Supervising Science Research Specialist Dr. Adrian Salces ng  PhilSA Spacecraft Payload and Communications Systems Development Division, at Head of the Department of Earth and Space Sciences Ms. Rose Ann Bautista ng  Rizal Technological University.
