MANILA, Philippines — Kinondena ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang umano’y mapanganib at agresibong kilos ng Chinese vessels sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) nitong Biyernes.

Ayon kay AFP Spokes­person Col. Medel Aguilar, dapat nang itigil ng China ang kanilang “dange­rous and offensive” actions sa WPS nang paligiran at tangkaing ha­rangin ang barko ng Philippine Navy na nagsasagawa ng resupply mission.

Nabatid na tinangka ng PLAN 621 na lumapit sa LS507 na may closest point of approach (CPA) na 350 yards at 5.8 nautical miles southwest ng Pag-asa Island.

Sinabi naman ni AFP Public Affairs chief Lieu­tenant Colonel Enrico Ileto na sa naturang insidente, nag-isyu ang BRP Benguet (LS507) nang sunud-sunod na radio challenges sa People’s Liberation Army Navy Ship 621 (PLAN 621) ng China, na umaaligid sa Philippine Navy vessel sa 80-yard distance.

Dito ay binanggit na ng Philippine Navy ang paglabag ng Chinese vessel sa Collision Regulations (COLREG) sa radio challenges nito habang sinagot ito ng PLAN 621 sa paglalahad ng 10-dash line narrative.

Tumutukoy ang 10-dash line sa bagong mapa na inilabas ng China na nagpapakita ng pag-angkin nito sa halos kabuuan ng South China Sea, Taiwan, at bahagi ng India.
