LTFRB kinasuhan ng 2 solon sa Ombudsman

MANILA, Philippines – Dahil sa umano’y lantaran na pagbale-wala sa batas sa pagbibigay ng mga prangkisa at certificates of public conve­yance ay sinampahan na nina party-list Congressmen Terry Ridon ng Kabataan at Jonathan de la Cruz ng ABAKADA ng kasong kriminal si Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Wins­ton Ginez at dalawa pang kasamahan nito sa Ombudsman.

Ayon kina Ridon at Dela Cruz
na dapat panagutan nina Ginez at LTFRB Board Members Ro­naldo Corpus at Robert Cab­rera na siya ring LTFRB Officer-in-Charge at Executive Director, ang kanilang paglabag  sa Section 3 ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Inihayag nina Ridon at Dela Cruz na noong Enero 15, 2013, binawi ng LTFRB ang pahintulot na binigay sa kumpanya ng bus na Solid North upang magsakay at magbaba ng pasahero sa terminal ng kumpanya sa Cubao sa Quezon City na hindi sinunod at naghain ito ng motion for reconsideration.
Noong Abril 24, 2013, pinuna ni Ridon na ibinasura ng LTFRB ang motion.

Subalit inihayag din ng ahensya na maaaring isantabi ang pagbasura kung makakakuha ang Solid North ng Route Measured Capacity (RMC) certificate mula sa Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).

Subalit, noong Hunyo 28, biglang naglabas ng kautusan si Ginez at ang LTFRB na nagpapahintulot sa Solid North na magsakay at magbaba ng mga pasahero sa Cubao.

Ayon kay Ridon na isa ring abogado, pinagbabawalan ng Section 3  ng Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act ang mga public officials sa “giving any private party unwarranted benefits, advantage or preference in the discharge of their official duties.
