MANILA, Philippines — Kinalsuhan ng Adamson University ang five-game losing streak matapos nilang ilipad ang 45-37 panalo kontra University of the East kahapon sa UAAP Season 87 collegiate men’s basketball tournament na nilaro sa SM Mall of Asia Arena sa Paay City.

Umusok si AJ Fransman sa opensa matapos umiskor ng walo sa 10-0 run ng Soaring Falcons sa simula ng fourth quarter kaya naman naagaw nila ang bentahe, 43-32.

Nagkumahog ang Red Warriors sa kanilang opensa kung saan ay naisalpak ni Precious Momowei ang unang puntos nila sa mula sa layup sa 4:03 mark sa payoff period.

Nirehistro ng Adamson U ang unang panalo sa second round, may karta itong 4-7 at nasa fifth place sila ng team standings,isang larong lamang ng nasa No. 4 na University of Sto. Tomas (5-6).

“Of course, we’re thankful that we won. Akala ko ang ghost month October eh. Muntik na kami ma-zero for the month of October, so it’s good that we’re able to get the win towards the end of the month,” saad ni Soaring Falcons head coach Nash Racela.

Si Fransman na transferee mula sa Enderun ay nagtala lamang ng isang puntos sa first half pero tumapos pa rin ng career-high 14 points kasama ang tatlong treys at siyam na rebounds para sa Adamson.

“This is something that we really need. If I’d say our players were doing their part even with those losses that we had, that five straight losses that we had… Pero sa’min naman, just continue on doing the right things and eventually you’ll get that win,” ani Racela.

Kumana rin si Matt Erolon ng 14 markers at apat na assists para sa Adamson habang bumakas si Cedrick Manzano ng double-double performance na 12 pts. at 11 rebounds kasama ang dalawang steals.
