MANILA, Philippines — Hindi pabor sina Gilas Pilipinas standouts Kai Sotto at Dwight Ramos sa four-point shot na sinimulan ng PBA sa Season 49 Governors’ Cup.
Kabi-kabila ang diskusyon sa sa four-point shot hindi lamang sa Pilipinas maging sa ibang bansa.
Ngunit kung si Sotto ang tatanungin, mas nanaisin nito na manatili sa dating nakagawian na three points lamang para sa mga long-range shot.
“I don’t think it’s just right. I think if I was the commissioner, I wouldn’t have a 4-point line. I would just remove the 3-point line and make the 3-point line even farther like the NBA,” pahayag ni Sotto.
May 23 feet at 9 inches ang three-point area sa NBA na mas mahaba kumpara sa regular na three-point area na 22 feet at 2 inches sa mga international leagues.
Ganito rin ang pananaw ni Ramos at naniniwala itong hindi na ito kailangan
“The 4-point shot was exciting, of course, because you see somebody make a shot from so far, but I know they put it in trying to remove teams from playing zone but you don’t need to do that,” ani Ramos.
Maglalaro sina Sotto at Ramos sa Japan B.League na magsisimula sa Oktubre 3.
Makakasama ni Sotto ang bagong team nitong Koshigaya Alphas, habang si Ramos naman ang team captain ng Levanga Hokkaido.
