MANILA, Philippines — Magtatangkang humakot ng gintong medalya si veteran tanker Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Brent International School-Manila sa pagsisimula ng swimming competition ng 13th ASEAN Schools Games ngayong araw sa Da Nang, Vietnam.
Masisilayan ang World Junior Championship semifinalist na si Mojdeh sa apat na individual events kung saan pakay nitong malampasan ang kanyang dalawang tansong medalya noong 2019 edisyon na ginanap sa Semarang, Indonesia.
Matatandaang kumana ito ng tansong medalya sa 100m butterfly at 200m butterfly.
Sa taong ito, target ni Mojdeh na masikwat ang gintong medalya sa 100m butterfly at 200m butterfly gayundin sa 400m Individual Medley at 200m Individual Medley.
Kasama pa si Mojdeh sa relay teams na magtatangka ring humirit ng medalya.
“I’m really excited this time. It’s my last ASEAN Schools Games and I want to make the most out of it. It’s also extra special since I was tasked to be the flag bearer. It’s really an honor to wave our Philippine flag in international arena,” ani Mojdeh.
Pormal nang nagbukas ang ASEAN Schools Games kahapon kung saan nagsilbing flag bearer si Mojdeh ng Team Philippines sa opening ceremonies.
Kasama ni Mojdeh sa girls’ division sina Kyla Bulaga, Shania Baraquiel, Krystal David, Catherine Cruz, Riannah Coleman, Clara Delos Santos, Trixie Ortiguerra, Daryn Santamaria, Patricia Santor, Renavive Subida, Maxene Uy, Ishaelle Villa at Shley Wong.
Mamanduhan naman ni Paralong Pambansa multi-gold medalist Aishel Cid Evangelista ang boys’ class kasama sina Albert Amaro, Julian De Kam, Anton Della, Ashton Jose, Paolo Labanon, Jaime Maniago, Juaquin Medenilla, Nimrod Montera, Shiblon Montera, Kobie Rivera, Kaden Sy, Juaquin TaguinodAt Jan Mikos Trinidad.
