MANILA, Philippines — Maningning sina swimmers Heather White at Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh, at gymnast Karl Eldrew Yulo matapos umani ng gintong medalya upang maging most bemedalled athletes sa katatapos na 2023 Batang Pinoy.
Naramdaman ang puwersa ni White matapos sumisid ng pitong gintong medalya para masiguro ang most bemedalled swimmer award.
Nanguna ang World Junior Championships veteran na si White sa 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle at 100m butterfly habang bahagi rin ito ng team na nakaginto sa 200m freestyle relay at 200m medley relay events.
“I am so glad to end this year on a good note. I am so happy with how far I have come this year and I have been blessed with so much support. I can’t wait for what next year has in store,” ani White.
Hindi naman nagpakabog si Mojdeh na nakatakdang tumulak sa Amerika matapos hugutin ng University of Southern California para maglaro sa US-NCAA.
Nakalikom si Mojdeh ng anim na ginto at isang pilak na medalya.
Namayagpag si Mojdeh sa 50m butterfly, 200m butterfly 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley at sa 200m freestyle relay at 200m medley relay events.
May pilak naman ito sa 100m butterfly.
“It was great campaign. I’m happy that I was able to improve my times des-pite having a jetlag after competing in a tournament in the US,” ani Mojdeh.
Sa kabilang banda, maningning din si Yulo na nakababatang kapatid ni world champion Carlos Edriel Yulo.
Winalis ni Yulo ang pitong individual events sa men’s artistic gymnastics (MAG) competition.
Nanguna si Yulo sa vault, still rings, floor exercise, high bar, parallel bar, pommel horse at individual all-around sa GAP Gym sa Intramuros, Manila.
