MANILA, Philippines — Bumanat din nang husto si Brent International School Manila standout Ethan Waskiewicz para ma­kasungkit ng gintong me­dalya sa Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) Swimming Championships na ginanap sa Seoul Foreign School swiming pool sa Seoul, South Korea.

Ibinuhos na ni Waskiewicz ang buong lakas nito para mangibabaw sa boys’ 50m backstroke kung saan nagrehistro siya ng 29.22 segundo.

“The races were very fun and challenging too, As for one of my events which was the 50m backstroke, I got second on the prelims, and got first place on the finals,” ani Waskiewicz.

Tinalo ni Waskiewicz si silver medalist Wilfred Ding ng Hong Kong Inter­national School na may di­kit na 29.61 segundo gayundin si bronze medalist Christian Lee ng host Seoul Foreigh High School na nagtala ng 31.16 segundo.

Nasiguro ni Waskiewicz ang ikalawang ginto ni­to sa boys’ 200m medley relay.

Nakipagsanib-puwersa si Waskiewicz kina Ethan Hodges, Connor Hodges at Yuan Wang sa pagtarak ng 2:00.10 upang makuha ang gintong medalya.

Tinalo ng Brent squad sina Jude Kim, David Lee, Moonjin Hong at Emmett Hill ng CIV na sumiguro ng pilak tangan ang 2:05.06 at sina Benjamin Josi, David Lee, Cedric Rombouts at Noah Josi ng UNIS na nagkasya sa tanso (2:09.56)

Nakahirit din ng pilak si Waskiewicz sa boys’ 100m backstroke sa bendisyon ng 1:07.44 performance nito habang may tanso ito sa boys’ 200m freestyle re­lay kasama ang Hodges brothers at si Wang.
