Dragons babawi sa Gin Kings sa Game 2

MANILA, Philippines — Aminado si Bay Area coach Brian Goorjian na dinomina sila ng Barangay Ginebra sa Game One ng 2022 PBA Commissio­ner’s Cup championship series sa Araw ng Pasko noong Linggo.

Ginamit ng Gin Kings ang matibay na depensa para ilampaso ang Dra­gons, 96-81, sa series opener ng kanilang best-of-seven titular showdown.

“They dominated us, they dominated us in the regular season (eliminations). So the adjustment comes to us. What are we gonna do,” sabi ng 69-anyos na si Goorjian.

Humakot ang Ginebra ng 58 rebounds kung saan ang 33 dito ay mula kina import Justin Brownlee, Christian Standhardinger at Jamie Malonzo.

May 35 boards lamang ang Bay Area, ang 12 dito ay galing kay 6-foot-10 Canadian reinforcement Andrew Nicholson.

Tumipa ang Dragons ng mahinang 30-of-78 field goal shooting kum­para sa mas magandang 38-of-76 clip ng Gin Kings.

“Things are going to regress, but talk (is) cheap. We got to get those things done,” ani Goorjian. “They’re deep they’re athletic, and they’re long.”

Kumpiyansa ang American-Aussie mentor na makakatabla ang Bay Area sa Ginebra sa Game Two bukas sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“The ball is on our court, so we’ve got to be better for the second game,” wika ni Goorjian.
