Dragons kabado sa gin Kings sa finals
MANILA, Philippines — Matinding championship series ang inaasahan ni Bay Area coach Brian Goorjian sa kanilang pagsagupa sa Barangay Ginebra.
Ayon kay Goorjian, parehong malakas ang line-up ng Dragons at Gin Kings para sa 2022 PBA Commisssioner’s Cup Finals.
“We got into this position because we got good players. We’re playing a team that has good players and I got a team, a very talented team that I’m excited about, and we’re looking forward to that competition,” ani Goorjian kahapon sa PBA Finals press conference.
Nakatakda ang Game One bukas ng alas-5 ng hapon sa MOA Arena sa Pasay City.
Pinatalsik ng Bay Area ang San Miguel, 3-1, at sinibak ng Ginebra ang Magnolia, 3-1, sa kani-kanilang semifinals showdown.
Ang Gin Kings lamang ang tumalo sa Dragons sa elimination round bukod sa Meralco Bolts.
“The game is going to come down to the players,” sabi ng 69-anyos na si Goorjian na humakot ng anim na korona sa NBL Australia at nagdala sa Australia national team sa bronze medal finish sa nakaraang Tokyo Olympic Games.
Sina Canadian import Andrew Nicholson, 7-foot-5 Chinese giant Liu Chuanxing, Kobey Lam, Hayden Blankey at Zhu Songwei ang muling sasandalan ng Bay Area.
Isasalang naman ng Ginebra sina resident import Justin Brownlee, Scottie Thompson, LA Tenorio, Japeth Aguilar at Christian Standhardinger.
“The players are going to step up and shine, and that’s basically what you want for them,” ani coach Tim Cone.
