ATP Cup at Davis Cup dapat nang pag-isahin
BRISBANE, Australia – Sinabi kahapon ni Serbian superstar Novak Djokovic na dapat nang magsama ang men’s team tennis competitions na ATP Cup at Davis Cup.
Ilulunsad ng ATP Cup ang kanilang inaugural edition at papalitan ang ilang Australian Open warm-up tournaments sa pamamagitan ng bagong round-robin competition.
Idinaos naman ang Davis Cup sa Madrid, Spain anim na linggo na ang nakakaraan.
Iminungkahi kamakailan ni Canadian Denis Shapovalov na dapat nang pag-isahin ang pamamahala ng Association of Tennis Professionals at ng International Tennis Federation sa men’s tour.
“It’s a really similar event and it’s literally back-to-back from the other one, so it’s a little bit of a weird sensation coming from what felt like the world championships coming to play another world championship,” ani Shapovalov.
“So for me I don’t see why they, the ATP and ITF can’t combine, can’t join, can’t come to some agreement and make just one, really unique and special tournament for everyone,” dagdag pa nito.
Kinatigan naman ito ni Djokovic ng ATP players’ council.
“We need to have one Super World Cup event, whatever you want to call it,” ani Djokovic.
