PSC idaraos ang karate meet sa Sept. 27 sa Lapu-Lapu City

MANILA, Philippines — Isasagawa ng Philip­pine Sports Commission sa pakikipagtambal sa Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation, Inc. at Department of Tou­rism Region 7 ang 7th Ka­ratedo Goju-kai Asia Pacific Championship sa Lapu-Lapu City sa Setyembre 27 hanggang Oktubre 1.

Gagawin ang torneo sa Hoops Dome, Lapu-Lapu City kung saan hi­git sa 700 atleta mula sa 26 Asian countries, ka­­sama rito ang Japan, In­donesia, Malaysia at Ko­rea, ang lalahok.

“As part of the PSC’s campaign in sprea­ding sports all over the country, we are honored to partner with City Mayor Jonard Chan and the lo­cal government of La­pu-Lapu City to host this international event in Cebu,” ani PSC Commissioner Ramon Fer­­nandez matapos ang kanilang pulong ni Ka­rate Pilipinas president Ricky Lim noong Lu­nes.

Pinasalamatan naman ni Ma­yor Chan ang PSC at ang Karate Pilipina.

“This is a great deve­lop­ment in promoting sports tourism not just in Cebu, but for the whole country. Lapu-La­pu City is ready to wel­come and accommodate our asian countries all throughout the games,” sabi ni Mayor Chan.

Ang nasabing three-day competition ay mag­sisilbi ring test event para sa karatedo na­tional team na sasabak sa darating na 30th Southeast Asian Games.

Isasagawa rin ang technical seminar para sa mga coaches at trai­ners sa huling araw ng event.
