Tuluy na tuloy ang polo competition ng SEAG sa Calatagan -- Romero

MANILA, Philippines — Tuluy-tuloy ang paggagawa sa Miguel Romero Polo Field in Calatagan, Batangas na gagamitin para sa 30th SEAG Games  na malayo sa main hubs na New Clark City Sports Complex sa Tarlac.

Dahil maraming royalties na darating para makilahok sa polo competition, isang magarang Bamboo Pavilion ang itinayo para sa mga dugong maharlika mula sa Brunei at Malaysia at iba pang mayayaman at mahahalagang tao sa rehiyon.

Sinabi ni United Polo Players Association (UPPA) Chairman at Rep. Mikee Romero (1Pacman Partylist) na inaasahan ang pagdating nina Brunei Sultan  Hassanal Bolkiah at Malaysian King –Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah para manood ng ilang matches.

 “We’re now excited since works are now in full blast, we want to have a first class field and a first competition,” sabi ni Romero. “We want to show that we – Filipinos – are capable of hosting an event as big as the SEA Games.”

Inaasahan ni Romero na matatapos ang lahat bago ang Nov. 25 opening at tiwala siyang sa tulong ng bagong halal na POC president na si Rep. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, walang magiging problema sa preparasyon.

“Sports are now in good hands, since unity is Tolentino’s foremost goal,” sabi ni Romero na dating naging president ng shooting at cycling association.

Hinamon ng dating tagasuporta ng amateur basketball ang lahat ng pinuno ng national sports associations na mag-focus sa overall championship ng biennial meet. “This year is our time to shine in the sporting arena,” aniya.
