National athletes magsasanay sa iba training center

Iba, Zambales, Philippines - Nagtayo na ng sariling Zambales Olympic High Performance Training Center ang Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) kung saan magsasanay ang mga miyembro ng national team na lalahok sa ibat-ibang international competitions kabilang na ang darating na 29th Southeast Asian Games sa Agosto 19-31 sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Nilagdaan ni POC president Jose Cojuangco Jr. at Gov. Amor D. Doloso ng Zambales noong Sabado ang Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) para sa paggamit ng malawak na Zambales sports complex sa Iba, Zambales para sa proyekto ng POC.

“The province of Zambales will  host the national athletes by allowing exclusive use and administration of the Zambales sports complex by the Philippine Olympic Committee. It shall appoint the coordinator/administrator for this purpose,” ayon sa nakasaad ng MOA.

Kabilang sa MOA ang paggamit ng POC sa six-story building sa loob ng sports complex na dati ring Balen Zambales Hotel na mayroong malinis na 64 kuwarto na fully air-conditioned at magkakasya ang apat na atleta,  may sariling shower, toilet at cabinet bawat kuwarto para ga-wing athletes quarter.

“The host allow the POC to use the dormitory, the conference hall, kitchen and dining area at the ground floor. Subsidize the utility bills such as water and electricity for the use of the national athletes. Ensure the safety and well-being of the national athletes through the necessary security measures installed at the complex throughout the life of this agreement,” ang iba pang nakasaad sa MOA.

Natuwa rin si Cojuangco sa mga pasilidad sa loob ng ZOHPTC kabilang na ang basketball gym, lawn tennis court, fitness gym, track oval, football field, 8-lane swimming pool at grandstand kung saan gagawin ang 2017 PRISAA national finals ngayong Abril 16 hanggang 22 dito.

“We really love to host our national athletes in line of our objective to boost tourism in the province. And collaborate with the POC in the sharing and transfer of sports science and technical training to the local coaches and trainers for sports development program of our province,” sabi naman ni Gov. Doloso.

Itinalaga rin ni Cojuangco ang dating miyembro ng national tennis team na si Jimbo Saret bilang POC national training director at administrator. (FG)
