2017 Pilipinas Run with Purpose

MANILA, Philippines - Magbabalik ang Pilipinas Run 2017 sa susunod na buwan para ipagpatuloy ang kanilang adbokasiyang  i-promote ang health and wellness.

Ang event na tinaguriang ‘Run with purpose’ na idaraos sa March 12 ay magsisimula at magtatapos sa Cultural Center of the Philippines sa Pasay City na katatampukan ng 5K, 10K run at ang centerpiece event na 16K race.

Halaw sa London Marathon, inaasahan ng mga organizers na lalahukan ito ng 3,000-4,000 runners para tumulong sa kanilang layunin.

Walang iba kungdi si Police Chief Superintendent Gilbert Cruz ang nanguna sa formal launching ng karera sa lingguhang Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum kahapon sa Golden Phoenix Hotel sa Pasay City kahapon.

“The Philippine National Police (PNP) is in-charge of the security preparation on the actual event in coordination with the organizers of the event,” sabi ni Cruz na nagsabing inimbitahang tumakbo ang mga nasa drug rehabilitation program sa naturang event. “Actually, yung ibang na-convert natin, siguro will ask them to join.”

Kasama ni Cruz sa public sports program na handog ng San Miguel Corp. Accel, Shakey’s at Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. ay sina Mayen Santos ng Department of Tourism na kinatawan ni Assistant Secretary Ricky Alegre, race organizer and director Philip Pacle at co-organizer Jones T. Campos ng Jones PR.

Idinagdag ni Campos na ang event na ito ay may  education at sports tourism bilang karagdagang adbokasiya.

“Ginawa na naming nationwide to boost more tourist spots in the country, even in the Visayas and Mindanao,” sabi ni Campos. “We’ve actually prepare tour packages for foreign visitors who are participa-ting in Pilipinas Run. We encourage and support sports tourism in the country like what we did in the last Ms. Universe pageant.”

May cash prizes at trophies na ibibigay sa top three male at female finishers sa bawat category habang may medals at shirts ang mga finishers ng event na naglalayong suportahan ang  mga deserving na kabataan lalo na ang mga ulila at naabusong kabataan.
