MANILA, Philippines – Pitong players ang umiskor ng double fi-gures.

At sapat na ito para makuha ng Hotshots ang pang-limang quarterfinals ticket.

Umiskor si guard Allein Maliksi ng game-high na 25 points, habang anim pang players ang naglista ng double figures para akayin ang Star sa 120-73 paglampaso sa talsik nang Meralco sa 2017 PBA Philippine Cup kagabi sa Ynares Center sa Antipolo City.

Nag-ambag sina sho-oting guard Paul Lee at rookie Jio Jalalon ng tig-15 markers at may 13 points si Aldrech Ramos at tig-10 points sina Justin Melton, Mark Barroca at Ian Sangalang para sa 6-4 record ng Hotshots.

“I challenged my players na we need to be mentally tough kasi nakakatakot ‘yung Meralco. Pangalawa, iyong pressure wala na mas-yado,” ani coach Chito Victolero.

Hawak ang nine-point lead sa pagtatapos ng opening period, nag-init ang mga kamay ng Hotshots sa second quarter para kunin ang 32-point lead, 63-31.

Sa ikalawang laro, tinakasan ng nagdedepensang San Miguel ang TNT Katropa, 98-94.
