25-PSL tankers sasabak sa Japan swimfest

MANILA, Philippines – Armado ng kumpiyansa, lilipad ngayong araw ang 25-kataong manlalangoy ng Philippine Swimming League (PSL) sa Tokyo, Japan para makipagbakbakan sa 2016 Buccaneer Invitational Swimming Championship  na gaganapin ngayong Oktubre 22 hanggang 24 sa St. Mary’s International School swimming pool.

Ibabandera nina Kyla Soguilon ng Aklan Swimming Team, Marc Bryan Dula ng Weisenheimer Academy  at Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh ng Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Parañaque ang kampanya ng Pilipinas sa paghakot ng ginto.

“We are all set  for this competition. The kids are motivated. Ilang linggo rin silang nag-training for this tournament and we’re ready to compete against some of the region’s best tankers,” paha-yag ni PSL president Susan Papa.

Bukod sa tatlong nabanggit, inaasahan din na hahakot ng medalya ang magkapatid na sina Paul Christian at Paula Carmela Cusing bukod pa kina Lee Grant Cabral at Albert Sermonia II ng Diliman Preparatory School.

Kasama rin sa delegasyon sina Trump Christian Luistro ng Hope Christian School-Legazpi, Felice Alexis Reyes ng Wesleyan College,  Rio Malapitan ng Divine World College-Calpaan.

“Excited na ang mga bata lalo na ‘yung mga first timer sa international competition. Sending them abroad is part of the our grassroots deve-lopment program para mas mahasa pa sila dahil hindi basta-basta ang mga makakalaban nila dito,” dagdag pa ni Papa.

Ang iba pang miyembro ng koponan ay sina Juliana Cassiopea Calibro, Lucio Cuyong II, Diane Fabiano, Zachie Gallegos, Jarius Lester Lagui-dao, Angelo Macaraig, Edgar Daniel Roberto, Tiffany Shane Sanchez, Remogenes Sobretodo, Kobe Soguilon, Triza Haileyanan Tabamo, Arbeen Miguel Thruelen, John Rylle Villagomeza at Shyne Nicole Villagomeza.

Matatandaang nag-uwi ang PSL tankers ng 13 ginto, pitong pilak at anim na tansong medalya mula sa 2016 Tokyo Winter Swimming Championship noong Pebrero  kung saan nanguna sa kampan-ya ng Pilipinas sina Dula at Mojdeh na lumangoy ng tig-apat na ginto na pinatingkad ng pagwasak sa mga da-ting marka sa kani-kanilang division para tanghaling Most Outstanding Swimmer.

Kasama rin sa delegasyon sina Secretary General Maria Susan Benasa, NCR Regional Director Joan Mojdeh at coaches Alex Papa, Jeffrey Medano at Ruben Thruelen.
