MANILA, Philippines – Kumpara sa kanyang kikitain kung lalabanan ang sinuman kina Terrence Crawford, Amir Khan at Adrian Broner, mas malaking premyo ang matatanggap ni Manny Pacquiao sa kanilang ‘tri-logy’ ni Timothy Bradley, Jr.
Sinabi ni Michael Koncz, ang Canadian adviser ni Pacquiao, na tiningnan lamang niya kung sino ang makakapag-akyat ng malaking pera para sa Filipino world eight-division champion.
At ang 33-anyos na si Bradley, ang kasaluku-yang World Boxing Organization welterweight titlist, ang makakagawa nito.
“We looked at what was the best financial package for Manny and I was dealing with Amir Khan. I kept him posted as much as I could. I even let him know what we had to pay Bradley to fight in the hopes that he may become more realistic in his purse,” sabi ni Koncz sa panayam ng BoxingScene.com.
“And I was even contemplating Adrien Broner but we had to look at everything in a package deal and fortunately – or unfortunately – the best package financially I could get for Manny was a rematch with Bradley,” dagdag pa ng Canadian adviser.
Para sa kanilang ikatlong paghaharap ni Bradley ay tatanggap ang 37-anyos na si Pacquiao ng guaranteed purse na $20 milyon.
Matapos ang naturang laban kay Bradley sa Abril 9 sa MGM Grand sa Las Vegas, Nevada ay sinabi ni Pacquiao na tuluyan niyang tututukan ang kanyang political career bilang Senatorial candidate sa national elections sa Mayo.
Ginulat ni Bradley si Pacquiao nang kunin ang kontrobersyal na split decision noong Hunyo ng 2012.
Nakabawi naman ang Filipino boxing superstar sa kanilang rematch mula sa kanyang unanimous decision win noong Abril ng 2014.
