Petron Blaze Spikers ‘di kinaya ang Japan

PHU LY, Vietnam – Hindi kinaya ng Petron ang lakas ng nagdedepnsang Hisamitsu Seiyaku Springs ng Japan matapos malasap ang 5-25, 16-25, 12-25 straight sets loss sa 2015 AVC Asian Club Women’s Volleyball Championship noong Martes dito sa Ha Nam Competition Hall.

Sinandigan ng Hisamitsu si Serbian reinforcement Tatjana Bokan at national team mainstays Yuki Ishii at Miyu Nagaoka para pabagsakin ang Blaze Spikers, umabante sa torneong matapos pagreynahan ang Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix noong 2014.

Nagtala si Bokan ng 13 kills at 3 blocks para tumapos na may 16 points, habang nag-ambag sina Ishii at Nagaoka ng 8 at 5 points, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

“Playing against these Asian superstars was a great experience for us,” sabi ni Petron coach George Pascua. “We may have lost the game, but we won a lot of experience which we could use when we compete in the PSL Grand Prix next month.”

Kaagad kinuha ng mga Japanese ang 8-1 abante sa first set bago nakasingit ng kill si skipper Maica Morada.

Nagtuwang naman sina Nagaoka, Ishii at Bokan para muling ilayo ang kanilang koponan sa 17-2 at ganap nang ibaon ang Blaze Spikers, nagmula sa straight-set victory kontra sa Iran noong Lunes ng gabi.

Nagtala si Dindin Manabat ng 7 kills mula sa spikes, habang may tig-4 points sina Frances Molina at import Rupia Inck Furtado para sa Petron.

Naglista si Brazilian reinforcement Erica Adachi ng 47 sa 55 excellent sets ng Blaze Spikers.

Tatapusin ng Petron ang kanilang pool play assignments laban sa Zhejiang ng China ngayong alas-7 ng gabi bago lumaban sa classification match para sa ika-lima hanggang ika-12 puwesto.
