Naka-3 na ang Alaska

MANILA, Philippines – Aminado si head coach Alex Compton na iba ang inilalaro ng Alaska ngayong komperensya kumpara sa nakaraang 2015 PBA Philippine Cup kung saan tinalo sila ng nagkampeong San Miguel sa championship series.

“That’s not the level of basketball we’re playing last conference but buti na lang nanalo kami, medyo maganda ang depensa namin,” sabi ni Compton matapos ang 82-68 pananaig ng Aces sa Blackwater Elite sa 2015 PBA Commissioner’s Cup kagabi sa Ynares Center sa Antipolo City.

Ito pa lamang ang ikatlong panalo ng Alaska sa kanilang walong laro sa torneo para wakasan ang tatlong sunod nilang kamalasan at makasilip ng pag-asa sa eight-team quarterfinals cast.

Kumolekta si import Damion James ng 29 points, 22 rebounds at 2 assists para pangunahan ang Aces, habang nagdagdag ng 12 markers si rookie guard Chris Banchero at may 10 si Ping Eximiniano.

“We’re still far from the top. We gotta keep playing better,” sabi ni Compton sa Alaska na sunod na sasagupa sa Meralco, Talk ‘N Text at Barangay Ginebra sa huli nilang tatlong laro sa eliminasyon.

Humakot si natura-lized center Marcus Douthit ng 21 points at 7 shot  blocks, habang may tig-11 markers sina Bam Bam Gamalinda, tumipa ng tatlong tres sa final canto at Raffy Reyes.
