MANILA, Philippines – Pararangalan ang mga top achievers of 2014 sa gaganaping Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Annual Awards Night na co-presented ng Milo at San Miguel Corp. sa 1Esplanade kung saan magtitipon ang buong local sports community.
Tampok si Incheon Asian Games gold medal winner Daniel Caluag, ang 27-gulang na BMX champion rider na siyang tatanggap ng prestihiyosong Athlete of the Year honor.
Sasamahan nina Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose ‘Peping’ Cojuangco, Jr., Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Richie Garcia si PSA president Jun Lomibao ng Business Mirror sa pagpaparangal kay Caluag at iba pang awardees sa two-hour program na iho-host nina veteran sportscasters Quinito Henson at Patricia Bermudez Hizon.
Si Garcia, ang Chef De Mission sa Incheon Asiad noong nakaraang taon, ang tatayong keynote speaker.
Bukod kay Caluag, paparangalan din sa event na suportado ng Smart, MVP Sports Foundation, and Meralco bilang principal sponsors at PSC bilang major sponsor ang reigning UAAP men’s basketball champion National University Bulldogs ng President’s Award habang ang 1973 Philippine men’s basketball team na nanalo sa FIBA-Asia Men’s Championship sa Manila ay bibigyan ng Lifetime Achievement Award.
