MANILA, Philippines - Walang kinatatakutan si WBA featherweight champion Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire, Jr. sa kanyang weight division.
Sinabi ni Donaire na handa siyang labanan ang sinuman sa kanyang dibisyon pati na ang iba pang kampeon ng iba’t ibang organisasyon.
Ilan dito ay sina WBO featherweight titlist Vasyl Lomachenko ng Ukraine, WBA regular champion Nicholas Walters at IBF ruler Evgeny Gradovich.
Sa panayam ng BoxingScene.com, sinabi ni Donaire na isang magandang laban ang matutunghayan ng mga fans sakaling maitakda ang kanilang banggaan ni Lomachenko, isang Olympic gold medalist na nakamit ang WBO featherweight title sa kanyang ikatlong professional fight.
“He’s (Lomachenko) a good fighter. He’s a smart fighter. I mean, he knows how to win because he’s one of the best amateurs; if not the best amateur. But that’ll be a great fight [between me and him]. I would love to put our belts together,” wika ng Filipino-American.
Nauna nang nabigo si Lomachenko na makakuha ng world title sa kanyang ikalawang pro fight nang matalo kay Orlando Salido via split decision noong Marso.
Tuluyan nang nakopo ng Ukrainian ang WBO belt nang talunin si Gary Russell Jr.
Matapos namang pigilin ang dating world champion na si Simpiwe Vetyeka noong Mayo 31 sa Macau ay wala pa ring napaplan-tsang laban si Donaire.
Gusto ni Donaire ng unification bout at tumanggi sa anumang tune-up fights.
“When I came up to 126, I didn’t have a tune-up. When I came up to 122, I didn’t have a tune-up. When I went up in weight to 118, I didn’t have a tune-up. If there’s a challenge there, I’ll go for it. I’m always willing to fight anybody,” ani Donaire. “We want to get another title match. Either defend the title or fight another champion. I’m always the type of fighter that will challenge other champions out there.”
