10-gold, 10-silver, 9-bronze hatid ng Phl tracksters

MANILA, Philippines - Nakakuha ang delegasyon ng Pilipinas ng 10 gold, 10 silver at 9 bronze na medalya sa katatapos lamang na 2013 Thailand Open Athletics Championships sa Thamassat University sa Bangkok, Thailand.

Ang 43 atletang Pilipino ay mag-uuwi ng 29 medalya, sa pangunguna ng 20-taong gulang na si Jessa Mangsat na ngayon ay may hawak ng bagong rekord sa 3,000m women’s steeplechase sa oras na 11:08 segundo.

Ang iba pang gold medalists ay sina Jennyrose Rosales (400m), Arniel Ferrera (hammer throw), Edgardo Alejan Jr. (400m), Evalyn Palabrica (javelin throw), Katherine Khay Santos (long jump), Mary Lyn Avila (400m hurdle), Riezel Buenaventura (pole vault), Mervin Guarte (800m) at Alejan Jr. at ang ng 4x400m relay team nina Archand Christian Bagsit, Julius Nierras at Isidro Del Prado.

Sina Josie Malacad (hurdle), Julian Reem Fuentes (long jump), Junrey Bano (hurdle), Rosie Villarito (javelin throw), Harry Diones (triple jump), Reyvieth Penarubia at Ernest John Obiena (pole vault) ang mga nakakuha ng silver habang sina Katherine Khay Santos, Princess Joy Griffith, Hanelyn Loquinto, Jennyrose Rosales, Jordan Paul Billones, Nessa Mangsat at Lorelie Sermona ay nanalo ng bronze.

Nagpasalamat ang mga lider ng delegasyon na sina Joseph Sy at Lerma Gabito sa vice chairman ng PATAFA na si Philip Juico sa mainit na suporta sa kanila habang nagpapagaling pa mula sa karamdaman ang kanilang pangulong si Go Teng Kok.

Si Juico ang dating chair ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at kasalukuyang pangulo ng Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
