PHOENIX -- Kinuha ng Phoenix Suns ang isang taong may 17 taong karanasan bilang NBA player at walang karanasan bilang coach para manduhan ang koponan na bumababa ang katayuan sa kalagitnaan ng season.
Napili si Lindsey Hunter, ang player development director ng team bilang interim coach nitong Linggo, dalawang araw matapos maghiwalay ang Suns at si Alvin Gentry na ayon sa koponan ay isang mutual agreement.
Napili si Hunter laban sa mga kandidatong may karanasan sa pagko-coach na sina assistant coaches Elston Turner, Dan Majerle at Igor Kokoskov.
“I think the simple answer is that the organization needed a jolt,’’ sabi ni general manager Lance Blanks. “We needed something that would shock the system of us, the players, and risk trumps safety in this business. We felt this was the right person to take the risk on.’’
Ang 40-gulang na si Hunter ang magiging coach sa natitirang 41 games ng Phoenix sa season.
