MANILA, Philippines - Sinabi ni dating IBF lightweight, WBC welterweight at WBC/WBA lightmiddleweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley na plano niyang bumisita sa Manila ng ilang araw bago simulan ang seryosong training para sa planong comeback fight kontra kay WBA welterweight titlist Paulie Malignaggi sa Brooklyn sa April 27.
“I know Manila’s a big boxing city,†sabi ni Mosley. “I’ve got a lot of Filipino friends. I’m set to go once my team puts it together. I think it’s a great time to visit and experience the life and culture of the Philippines. I’m not sure about the ti-ming but it could happen this month or the next. Maybe, it’ll be a three or four day visit. It all depends on what my team arranges.â€
Ang tinutukoy na mga kaibigan ni Mosley na mag-aayos ng biyahe ay ang kanyang San Francisco lawyer na si Sydney Hall at business manager na si Germaine Gillies. Sinabi ni Gillies, ipinanganak sa Baguio at naninirahan na ngayon sa Los Angeles, na may planong event tampok si Mosley sa Manila.
“It’ll be like an Elorde Awards Night,†sabi ni Gillies na may wealth management, entertainment production at kumakatawan sa mga star athletes sa NFL at NBA. “It won’t be a fight because obviously, we’ll have to run through promoters for that. But if there’s inte-rest in promoting a fight with Shane in the future, why not? Shane’s excited to visit Manila.â€
Kinumpirma ni Mosley, 41-gulang, ang negosasyon para sa kanyang pagbabalik sa ring.
