MANILA, Philippines - Pinasisibak ni billiards and snooker congress president Arturo Ilagan, Jr. sina Dennis Orcollo, Iris Rañola, Rubilen Amit at iba pang Filipino cue artists na kumuha ng gold medals sa mga nakaraang Southeast Asian Games.
Ito ang nilalaman ng sulat ni Ilagan kay Philippine Sports Commissioner Buddy Andrada.
“This is to inform you that the members of the 2012 national training pool will be replaced effective January after the submission fo the new line up for the 2013 national training pool together with the 2013 budget,” sabi ni Ilagan.
Ang liham ni Ilagan sa PSC ay may petsang Disyembre 26, 2012.
Dahil dito, sinabi ni PSC chairman Richie Garcia na ang Philippine Olympic Committee ang dapat magresolba sa nasabing isyu sa billiards.
“I heard about it but I have not seen any official statement,” ani Garcia. “Personally, I think it is a wrong move but it is a decision of the president of the NSA (national sports association) and they are independent.”
“The POC (Phl Olympic Committee) should take action regarding this for billiards is a priority sports,” dagdag pa nito.’
Si Orcollo ay isang eight-ball gold medallist, habang si Rañola ay isang eight-ball at nine-ball gold medal winner sa SEA Games na idinaos sa Indonesia noong 2011.
Si Amit ay palagian namang gold medal winner sa mga nakaraang edisyon ng SEAG.
