2,000-year-old bronze helmet ng isang gladiator, natagpuan!
Ang isang helmet na pinaniniwalaang mula umano sa isang gladiator ng Pompeii ang nakatakdang ipakita ngayon sa publiko.
Ang 2,000-year-old bronze helmet ay isa lang sa 250 na gamit na dinala sa Melbourne Museum para malaman at mapag-aralan kung ano at papaano ang buhay noon sa ancient city.
Ayon sa Museum manager na si Brett Dunlop, naka-survived daw ang nasabing helmet mula sa pagputok ng Bulkang Vesuvius at na-recover 200 years ago.
“A large number of gladiators’ helmets and shin guards and shoulder guards were found in what was most likely a storeroom in the gymnasium area,
“Most definitely the gladiators who were able to would have fled away when the volcano was erupting and a large number of pieces of their equipment were left behind,” pagbabahagi niya.
Ang helmet daw ay pagmamay-ari ng isang ‘murmillo’, isang uri ng gladiator noong Roman Imperial age.
