Vic Sotto, limang araw ‘di nakatulog sa kaba!

Limang araw na raw na hindi nakakatulog si Vic Sotto dahil sa sobrang excitement sa pelikula nila ni Piolo Pascual na The Kingdom, isa sa 10 official entries to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival.

Ani Bossing sa ginanap na red-carpet premiere night ng pelikula last Friday, “limang araw na akong hindi nakakatulog. That’s because I’m excited and at the same time, nandu’n ang kaba. And seeing my friends and family here, supporting me, supporting the film, supporting everyone, nakakatanggal ng kaba, nakakadagdag ng excitement.”

In fairness, sa The Kingdom ay makikita natin si Vic na umalis sa kanyang comfort zone dahil sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon ay mapapanood siya portraying a serious role, malayung-malayo sa mga papel niya sa comedy films na nakasa­nayan na niyang gawin.

Ginagampanan ni Bossing sa pelikula ang papel ni Lakan Makisig na hari ng isang kaharian (a reimagined Philippines). Sa isang heavy-drama scene nga niya ay pinalakpakan siya ng audience for pulling it off.

Kakaiba rin naman ang role rito ni Papa P dahil deglamorized siya pero mind you, kahit madungis at mahirap siya, ang guwapo pa rin niya, ha!

Part of the stellar cast are Cristine Reyes and Sue Ramirez as the princesses Dayang Matimyas and Da­yang Lualhati, and Sid Lucero as Magat Bagwis, whose aspirations and conflicts drive the kingdom’s intense power struggle.

Ruby Ruiz shines as the Babaylan, the spiritual heart of the realm, while Cedrick Juan’s portrayal of a young Lakan Makisig unveils the monarchy’s turbulent history. Supporting performances by Zion Cruz, Iza Calzado, Art Acuña, Giovanni Baldisseri, and Nico Antonio further enrich the film’s intricate narrative.

Samantala, pinagkaguluhan ng media sa premiere night ang pagdating ni Dominic Roque bilang suporta kay Sue. Dito ay inamin niya na nasa dating stage sila ng aktres.

Dumalo rin si Marco Gumabao bilang suporta naman sa kanyang girlfriend na si Cristine.

Agaw-eksena rin ang pagdating ni AiAi delas Alas para suportahan naman si Bossing Vic na aniya ay na-miss daw niya,.

Showing on Dec. 25, ang The Kingdom mula sa direksyon ni Mike Tuviera, at produced by MQuest Ventures Inc, M-ZET TV Productions, and APT Entertainment Inc.

Ice, bumilib kay Gary V!

Ganu’n na lang ang paghanga ni Ice Seguerra kay Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano sa professionalism na ipinamalas nito sa katatapos lang na concert nito sa Araneta Coliseum na Gary V Pure Energy: One More Time held last Friday, Dec. 20.

Isa si Ice sa guests sa nasabing concert at nakita niya mismo na talagang hindi maganda ang pakiramdam ni Gary before the show started.

Sa post ni Ice sa kanyang Facebook account, ikinuwento niya kung gaano ka-professional si Gary na kahit masama ang pakiramdam ay itinuloy pa rin ang concert.

“Run thru pa lang, hindi na mabuti ang pakiramdam niya that’s why he chose to stay at the audience area pero nung nandoon na kaming mga guests to rehearse our numbers, umakyat siya talaga ng stage to sing with us.

“When we heard na made-delay yung show because kailangan na siyang mag IV because he’s dehydrated na, sobrang nag worry na ako. We were informed mababago na yung line-up, fully expecting na mawawala na yung nga dance songs. But no, because he’s just ama­zing, ginawa pa rin niya lahat nang nakaya niya to give his audience a fantastic show,” pagbabahagi ni Ice.

Aniya pa, kung noon ay mataas na ang paghanga niya kay Gary, mas lalo pa raw ngayon.

“You are an inspiration, Tito Gary. Your dedication to your artistry is undeniable. You epitomized the motto of all performers, “The show must go on,” and you took it a notch higher. Kung mataas na yung paghanga ko sa iyo noon, mas matindi ngayon,” ani Ice.

“I’m happy you’re feeling better. We love you so much, and we’ll always root for you. Get well soon, Mr. Pure Energy,” pagtatapos ni Ice.

Sa nasabing concert, nagawa pang mag-perform ni Gary ng 8 songs bago nagsalita sa stage at sinabing hindi na niya makakayang tapusin ang show.

“Ladies and gentlemen, hindi ito kasali sa script namin. Alam ko kasi ako ‘yung nagsulat ng script. But I don’t know if I can finish this show tonight.

“But what I want to do is I want to do the songs that I know can speak into your heart.

“It breaks my heart to know that we have prepared so much for all of you, but the body is saying ‘Gary, be cautious. You have many more years to go,’” pahayag ni Gary bago tinapos ang show.

Sa update ni Angeli kahapon sa Facebook ay sinabi niyang nanghihina pa si Gary pero okay naman daw ito.

“Sugar ok. BP ok. Creatinine ok. He is ok. Just weak from all the throwing up - from the stage to the stretcher is what happened but he is ok now. Just weak,” ang update ni Angeli.
